The beach at Uphill ( Western Super Mud, at the bottom of this map ) is not bad for kiting. Regulation man got here several years back but the local kite club has worked hard with the local council to get a designated area. Visitors to Uphill will have to get a permit to use the area (£5 per day and show their insurance documents). Annual permits are available too.
The Wind and Wheels club is based in Weston super Mare and is a Para-karting/Kitebuggying, Land Speedsailing, Kite Mountain Boarding & Sail Karting Club. The club and all its members have permission to sail at the Uphill end of the beach at Weston Super Mare. All members must be members of the PKA, BBC or BLSA and have £5 million liability insurance. Because they have permission to use the beach members insurance is validated. See www.windandwheels.org.uk for more information. |
