Luce sands is an enormous beach. There is ample car parking, picnic tables, good toilet facilities and an unlimited amount of sand, especially so when the tide is out
To get to Luce Bay and Sandhead follow the A716 from Stranraer or the A715 from Glenluce. This will be the longest stretch of sandy beach in the South Rhins. Luce Sands runs for over five miles from Sandhead to Glenluce and with the right tide and wind you can burn up 9 miles before you hit the river at Milton.
Best Wind : S, SE
Worst Winds : Not really any but N (gusty) and SW & NE will shorten your runs (instead of 7+ miles only about a mile).
Good Points
• Long runs
• Good parking
• Good Facilities
Bad Points
• Unless you live here its a bit of a way to go.
• Bigfoots needed to take full advantage of the beach.
