The sands stretching out towards Black Rock are an excellent place to learn how to kite buggy. Very little traffic, to far to walk for most day trippers and enough room for all types of kites to share the beach. Its a bit of a walk out to the sands and a prevailing W wind makes for shorter runs than I like but you need all your nerve to judge when to turn.
Best Wind : SE (never happens)
Worst Winds : N, NE, NW just don't bother going there.
Good Points
• Great for learning
• No one there
• Possible 1.4 mile run on a good day.
Bad Points
• Rarely get a SE (about 2 or 3 a year)
• Watch the tide or its a scramble with your buggy over the rocks.
• Any wind that has north in it don't bother the hill makes it dangerously gusty.
