Well Holkham Bay Norfolk, it massive with clean uninterrupted winds from all directions. However: there is a blanket ban from the Land Owners and English Nature, see below what your up against.
Reply from English Nature

"Dear **********
Thank you for the information you provided about kite buggying and the draft code of practice for the use of kite buggies at Holkham. However, English Nature and the Holkham Estate are resolved to stand by the decision to ban this activity on the beach.
As you may be aware the main reason in reaching this conclusion is the concern for the safety of beach users. The stretch of beach between Burnham Overy and Wells attracts over 500,000 visitors a year, with the vast majority of beach users involved in quiet recreation. This usage fits well within a National Nature Reserve setting.
In recent months there have been days when at least 15 kite buggies have been in use on the beach simultaneously. Also of concern is the return of land yachts, albeit in low numbers currently, but whose presence could lead to even more wheeled vehicles on the beach, thus increasing the potential hazard to public safety. The welfare of visitors is a key element in our planning for and our management of the beach and we are not prepared to compromise this.
I am unable to provide any positive encouragement for you to take this further but if you require clarification or information please contact me.

Best Winds : ANYTHING
Worst Winds : NOTHING (unless there is no wind)
Good Points
• Great for learning
• Norfolk is flat and the winds are clean. (like the sport)
Bad Points
• I do not recommend you fly here because of the ban. (but think about it no man can be in all places at all times). |
