This sand bank is possibly the biggest in the UK. If the tides are right it is possible for the sand to be out of the water for days at a time. However, this area is controlled and run by Wirral Sand Yacht Club on behalf of Wirral Council and only land yachts and class 8 buggies are allowed to sail and fly here.

The club opened its doors to parakarters in 1999, and they now make up the majority of the membership. The sandbank is a superb bugging site, and membership (which is necessary to fly here) of the club allows access to the workshop, shower, toilets, clubhouse and kitchen.

Here's a thought though; no council owns a beach I've looked into it. They may well have responsibility for its access and upkeep but this place is massive and no man can be in all places at all times.
